Free/fun things to do in BKK ?

I'm looking for some fun free things to do in Bangkok where i can meet other creative, nature loving people. any suggestions would be great! I'm looking for some fun free things to do in Bangkok where i can meet other creative, nature loving people. any suggestions would be great!

if you're up for a bit of a walk, the green lung at Bang Krachao is free and feels like another world. take the ferry from Klong Toey for like 4 baht, then rent a bike or just wander the boardwalk through the mangroves. there's a floating market vibe on weekends but it's mostly locals and cyclists, super chill for meeting people who actually care about nature. bring water tho, it gets hot out there

You could check out the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) near Siam. It's completely free to walk through the galleries and there's often people sketching or reading in the lobby spaces. The top floor has a small library and open seating where creative types tend to hang out and chat. Afterward you can walk through the nearby Siam Square alleys where local artists sometimes set up pop up stalls on weekends.

Honestly the weekend train market at Chatuchak is free to wander and there's a big park right next to it. Lots of creative types hang around the vintage stalls and you can just chill on the grass with strangers, maybe bring a sketchbook

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
