Any experiences training muay thai at BigBoxBkk?

The gym is near my place and I'm thinking of training there for a few months, there's also Krudam gym, but way more expensive.

Any recommendations? Thank you!

BigBox has a really good drop-in culture, lots of expats and digital nomads training there after work. The equipment is decent and the classes run on time, which isn't always a given at smaller gyms. I'd say it's worth trying a week before committing long-term, just to see if their teaching style clicks with you. If you end up wanting more technical instruction later, you can always do a few privates at Krudam without signing up for a full membership.

I've trained at BigBox a few times. The vibe is pretty chill and they focus more on fitness than hardcore fight prep, so if you want to get a solid sweat in without getting bruised up, it works. Krudam is definitely pricier but you get more traditional instruction and they produce actual fighters. For a few months of casual training, BigBox is fine, just don't expect the same level of clinch work or pad holding you'd get at a dedicated fight gym. If you're on Sukhumvit, the commute to Krudam might also be a hassle depending on traffic.

honestly i'd go with BigBox for the first month at least. the location is way more convenient if you're near there and the early morning sessions are pretty empty, like 4-5 people max so you get way more pad time. Krudam is legit but the price difference is steep and unless you're planning to fight the extra cost doesn't really pay off. fwiw BigBox also has a solid Muay Thai specific conditioning class on tuesdays that a lot of people sleep on, it's a good way to build up without just hitting bags all session

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
