there's Thailand Comic Con happening pretty regularly, usually at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. the next one should be around late October or November if they stick to their usual schedule. tickets are around 300-400 baht and it's a solid mix of comics, anime, and pop culture stuff. also keep an eye out for Bangkok Comic Con, they sometimes do smaller events at CentralWorld or Siam Paragon, more focused on local artists and cosplay.

Japan Expo Thailand is usually in late January at Impact Muang Thong Thani, so that's coming up early next year. It's more focused on anime, manga, and J-pop culture than the general comic cons, and they often bring over Japanese guests and bands. Tickets run about 200-400 baht depending on the day. If you're into doujinshi and indie zines, Comic Party Bangkok pops up a few times a year at various venues, usually around 100 baht entry and very heavy on fan art.

if you're into gaming stuff too, check out Bangkok Game Festival. they do it at Siam Paragon and it's got a lot of indie devs, retro arcades, and some cosplay. not as big as the comic cons but way more hands-on. also the japanese culture fest at Thammasat University in November has a ton of anime booths and performances, free entry too if you don't mind the heat

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
