I bought a bike from an official dealer in BKK a few years ago, and I believe I had a non-O visa at that time.

This year, I've been traveling a lot and staying in other countries. I plan to leave Thailand for good in a few months, and I'll be there on a tourist visa. So, my question is: Can I sell the bike without a residence certificate from immigration, which as I understand I can't get while on a tourist visa.

honestly the bigger headache might be the tax office side. if the green book is still in ur name from the non-o visa, the DLT transfer is fine like others said but you'll need to clear any annual tax first before they let you do the ownership change. i've seen people get stuck because they forgot to pay the yearly road tax (its like 200-300 baht) and the DLT wont process the transfer until its done. also some branches in bkk require a copy of ur lease agreement if ur registered address is different from the one on the green book, so bring that just in case. the tourist visa thing isnt an issue at all for the transfer itself

the other reply is right about the DLT not caring about visa type but the real issue might be the green book. if the book is still in ur name from when u had the non-o, the transfer is straightforward. just make sure u have the original purchase receipt too, some DLT branches ask for it even if ur not the first owner. also check if ur bike has any outstanding fines, they can delay the transfer and u dont want that headache when ur about to leave.

yeah you can sell it without the residence cert, just bring your passport and the green book to the DLT and do the transfer at the counter, they don't really check visa type for that

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
