What tf is this?!

Anyway I've had girls tell me a few times I was cute and all that but obviously that's not reddit worthy lmao, but what is is that I was with my friend last night who I am not romantically involved with (she's a girl and i'm a guy ) and we were at some small little restaurant eating, there was a group of Thai women sitting at the table, and they were pretty noisy, but when we got our food they started randomly recording and taking photos of me? And they all kept shouting different things to my friend, and she said one lady basically told her that I was so "cute and youthful" (I look young) and that she wanted my babies (πŸ’€huh!?) and then her other friend told her to "stop talking before one of the others will slap her and cause a scene" and they also said I looked like Justin Bieber lol. Soon after, they got up giggled and left. They were like 10-15 years older than me. Is it normal for girls to take random photos of guys randomly? This whole interaction was really strange lmao and I just want some feedback on whether recording random strangers is socially accepted or not? I've lived in Russia for years and doing that would more than likely not be met with grins and smiles, but of course the culture of things is different there. i'm mostly curious about that

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
