Where Can I Find a Decent Selection of Shoelaces (Have Only Found Supersports So Far, But They Didn't Have a Wide Range)?

I found some in Supersports, but they were all just different colors of the same size - is there anywhere which has a larger selection of lengths, widths, styles (e.g. flat vs circular)?

check online marketplaces first honestly, lazada and shopee have tons of shoelace sellers with proper size filters. search "เชือกรองเท้า" and you'll get flat, round, elastic, even reflective ones, prices from 15 baht up, delivered to a 7-eleven near u. i've ordered 120cm and 140cm pairs for my running shoes, no issues.

if u want to touch them before buying, try the old school shop on the ground floor of platinum fashion mall, near the socks and ties section. they have a glass counter full of laces in every width and length, plus those metal aglets if ur tips break off. the lady there knows her stuff, just show her ur shoe and she'll match it.

and for a left field option, check the bts skywalk vendors near chit lom station on weekday mornings, there's a guy who sells shoe care stuff, brushes and waterproofing sprays, and he always has a box of random laces for 30 baht. not a huge range but u might find something unique like two-tone or patterned ones u won't see in malls.

honestly, check out the fabric stalls in Bobae Market, near the garment district. they sell bulk shoelaces for factories, so you get flat, round, waxed, even those weird elastic ones, and they're dirt cheap like 20 baht a pair. not the most stylish packaging but the range is way better than any mall.

if you want something more curated, head to a dedicated shoe repair shop, not a brand store. there's a few around Siam Square soi 5, they stock all lengths and widths for actual repairs. the old guy at the one near the MRT exit can prob hook you up with cotton or nylon, just tell him what shoes you have.

otherwise, try the outdoor gear shops on Khao San or the military surplus stores on Din Daeng road. they carry heavy duty laces for boots, different lengths and that paracord style. CW is useless for this tbh, you gotta go where the people actually need replacements.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
