All the videos I've seen have mostly shown women's clothing and I'd like to know in advance just so my bf doesn't end up packing light only to not be able to find anything. Thanks in advance! :)

yeah there's some but you gotta dig. the men's section is mostly in soi 2-4 and a lot of those stalls run small. for xl your bf should focus on the casual t-shirt and oversized streetwear stalls, they tend to have bigger cuts. also there's a few stalls near the back that sell brand name overruns and those often go up to 2xl. bring cash cause bargaining is easier that way and tell him to try stuff on, the sizing is wild here

It depends what kind of XL he's after. If he's looking for structured stuff like button-downs or jackets, the indoor sections near Kamphaengphet Road are better than the main weekend market strips. Those stalls cater to locals who are bigger built and the sizing runs truer. For casual wear, the back alleys near Soi 7/1 have a handful of stalls that specialize in big and tall imports from Japan and Korea, which tends to run boxier. He should budget around 300 to 500 baht per shirt and expect to haggle a bit.

honestly tell him to skip the main market and head straight to the rot fai night market instead. same vibe but way more stalls with oversized streetwear and big sizes, especially the alley near the train track where they sell deadstock and sample tees. chatuchak can be a grind for bigger guys but rot fai has whole sections dedicated to that oversized look. also the fit is more consistent since they import from japan and korea where they size up naturally

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
