How does the apartment numbering work?

I was staying in an apartment for a while and it was on the 12th floor unit 12/250. I thought 250 is a bit high for an apartment number but whatever. Is 90 the building number or something?

the first number is usually the building number in the land office system, not the floor or anything. so 12/250 means building 12, unit 250. the 250 is just a sequential number they assign, not 250 units inside. 90/33 is building 90, unit 33. it gets confusing because on the 9th floor you saw 12/xxx too, that's just different units in the same building. the floor number isn't in the address at all, you just have to know from the elevator.

yeah it's a thai condo thing. 12/250 means building 12 (or sometimes the moo baan/village number) and unit 250. the 90/33 is probably building 90 unit 33. the first number is always the building or project code, second is the actual unit. so 12/250 on the 12th floor and 12/something on the 9th just means they're in the same building. it's confusing at first but you get used to it

honestly the 12/250 thing is just how they do it here. the first number is the building or land plot number, not the floor. so 12/250 means building 12, unit 250. and 90/33 is building 90, unit 33. it's like a postal code for the address, not the actual apartment number. your unit number inside the building is just 250 or 33, so they might have 250 units total in the building or it's just a sequence.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
