yeah there's been talk about tightening the rules for months but nothing concrete has passed yet. songkran 2025 is still a ways off so honestly nobody knows for sure what the landscape will look like by then. if you're worried just buy what you need from a shop on sukhumvit soi 11 before the holiday rush, those places know the current laws inside out.

songkran itself is wild enough without weed honestly. you'll be soaked and covered in chalk from khao san road to silom by 10am. the water fights go all day and the beer flows like crazy. if you do smoke just pace yourself because the heat and dehydration will hit you fast. keep a bottle of water in one hand and a waterproof phone pouch on you.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
