Is there any meetup like this?

I've been to a few casual foodie gatherings that weren't really advertised as formal meetups. Try showing up at the weekend market at Chatuchak around 11am on a Saturday, specifically near the coffee roasters at the back of section 8. There's usually a small group of regulars who just grab a table at one of the noodle stalls and invite anyone sitting nearby to join, no RSVP needed. The vibe is low key and you'll end up trying things like khao kha moo from the lady with the orange cart before migrating to the coconut ice cream spot two rows over.

There's also a pretty active WhatsApp group called "BKK Food Crawl" that organizes spontaneous dinners at places like the night markets on Ratchada or the street food alley behind Wat Ratchabophit. A friend of mine goes to their monthly Isaan food night and says it's a solid mix of locals and expats. You might have to ask around at places like Khlong Toei market or some of the smaller coffee spots on Ekkamai to find the link.

yeah there's a facebook group called "Bangkok Foodies & Cafe Hopping" that does casual group lunches sometimes, or check the "Bangkok Food Explorers" on meetup.com they used to do walking tours to random local spots

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
