Tired of all the condos every time I try to search. Looking for a furnished apartment (not a gaint development) walking distance from Kaset University - Google has been no help :/

The previous replies covered the main spots, but I'd add that if you walk toward the Kaset intersection and cut into Soi Phahon Yothin 34/1, there's a small building called Niti Mansion that doesn't show up on most booking sites. It's a proper serviced place with a tiny lobby and a security guard, rooms go for about 9,000 baht with weekly cleaning and a kitchen sink, and the walk to the university gates is under 5 minutes. The area has a few good street food stalls right on the soi for cheap dinner options too.

Most people overlook the small soi behind the Kaset BTS side. There's a building called Ratchada Place on Phahon Yothin Soi 38 that's been doing serviced rentals for years, mostly for faculty and grad students. It's about 12 minutes on foot to the university, but the rooms are proper apartments with separate living areas and weekly cleaning included. Studios start around 9,000 baht and the staff actually know your name after a week. The soi has a decent roti guy most evenings too.

Kaset isn't really serviced apartment territory so Google's not totally off base. Most of the furnished places around there are small condo buildings that just happen to do monthly rentals, like The Cube or Lumpini Ville on Phahonyothin. If you want something closer to a proper serviced setup, try Sena Nikhom Soi 4, there's a few older apartment buildings that do month-to-month with cleaning included, about a 10 minute walk from the university gates. Expect to pay around 8,000 to 12,000 baht depending on the room size.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
