Best area to stay in Thailand close to art galleries, museums, food, and massage places? So overwhelmed lol.

I'm visiting Thailand in August and would appreciate some recommendations! I've researched so much and my brain is tired lol, but I guess I'm narrowing it down to spots that are safe, central, and close to cultural/artsy spots.

Thanks!

honestly just stay in charoen krung, specifically around the bang rak area. it's the old city center but still alive with galleries like h gallery and number 1 gallery, plus the bangkok art and culture centre is a short bts ride away. food wise you'll find everything from street stalls to james restaurant for thai curry, and massage places are literally every corner, like i've had good luck at health land on sathorn for a proper thai massage without the tourist upcharge. august is rainy season so having the bts or river ferry close helps a ton

I'd pick the area around Saphan Taksin BTS, specifically the Soi Charoen Krung 30 side. It's a five minute walk to the River City ferry pier for museums like the Bangkok National Museum, plus the Song Wat Road galleries are right there with rotating contemporary exhibits. For food, the Yaowarat Road night market is a ten minute taxi ride and has the best stir fried crab in the city, and there's a solid Thai massage place called Ruen Nuad on Soi Convent that's been around for decades and costs about 300 baht for an hour. August is muggy so having the BTS station overhead makes a real difference when you're hopping between galleries.

bangkok's a lot but for what you're looking for i'd say bangkok's riverside or talat noi area. talat noi's got old chinese shophouses turning into galleries and cafes, walking distance to river city which has art shows, and the massage spots there are cheap compared to sukhumvit. just grab a ferry to get to the main museums like the national museum or wat pho for the reclining buddha, it's easy. avoid khao san road unless you want backpacker chaos, not really the artsy vibe you're after

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
