Someone form the tax authority sent me letters asking for more documentation, and they gave me a personal contact at the tax office - but we are having some communication issues.

Can someone recommend an accountant in town who is good and affordable who can assist me with this?

I'd suggest reaching out to the folks at Thai Tax Advisory on Sathon, they're near Soi Sathon 1. They specialize in handling communication breakdowns with the revenue department and will basically take over talking to your assigned officer for you. I paid 3,500 baht for them to deal with a similar back and forth last year and they sorted it without me making a single call.

honestly if you're dealing with a specific officer at the revenue dept already, it might be easier to go with someone who knows that particular office. there's a small firm called KPlus near Bang Rak that works with a lot of expats, the owner Khun Nok used to work at the revenue dept herself so she knows how to talk to them directly. she charged me 2000 baht for a consultation and filing last year, and she sorted out a letter situation my friend had with the Saphan Khwai office without any back and forth. they're on Charoen Krung Soi 47, walkable from Saphan Taksin BTS if you dont mind the short walk.

Try Khun Somchai at BDS Tax on Silom Road, near Surasak BTS. He helped me sort out a similar mess with the revenue department a couple years ago, and his English is solid. Rates were around 2500 baht for a sit down and filing.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
