Where is the best place to get balayage (hair coloring) in Bangkok?

She honestly did the best job ever so I would prefer to find her but I can't remember the salon name. But how much do you all pay? What are your experiences?

Try stalking her old work instead of her name. Thai stylists post client photos on IG constantly, so search tags like #บาลายาจ or #ทำสีผมกรุงเทพ and scroll until you recognize her hand, the way she blends the root shadow is pretty distinctive. Once u find a recent post the salon is usually tagged or in the caption.

For what its worth most colorists in Thonglor now quote 4k to 8k depending on length, and a lot of them moved to chair rental setups after covid so theyre not even listed under a salon name anymore. Bring cash too, some of the smaller spots add 3 percent for card.

if u want to track her down the fastest way is Line actually. most Thai stylists keep their old Line ID even after switching salons so if u still have her contact from before just message it, even if shes at a new place now she'll reply. if not, ask at the salon front desks on Thonglor Soi 55 and 63, they gossip and know who moved where.

on price, the gap is real. a neighborhood place like in Ari or Phra Khanong will do balayage for 2,500 to 3,500 and its fine, while a Thonglor salon with a "creative director" charges 7k plus. the difference is mostly the toner and how careful they are with the bleach, not magic. bring a reference pic and be specific about how light u want the ends or you'll pay premium and still get something muddy.

I've been going to Chez Nous on Sukhumvit 31 for about three years and their balayage holds up well, around 4,000 to 5,500 depending on length and whether you add a treatment. The stylists there train in Tokyo and Seoul so they're good with Asian hair if that matters to you. One thing nobody mentions, balayage in Bangkok fades fast because of the sun and the hard water, so budget for a toner refresh every six to eight weeks or it'll go brassy. If you want to hunt down your old stylist, try calling a few Thonglor salons directly and describing her, receptionists usually know who's moved where.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
