your situation is pretty common honestly. the main thing is establishing that your parents were still thai citizens at the time of your birth, which is usually fine if they hadn't naturalized yet. the consulate will want their thai ID cards or house registration from back then, even if they're expired. getting those from thai relatives can take a while so start that early. also be ready to renounce your us citizenship if thailand doesn't allow dual in your case, but for most people born abroad it's fine

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
