I've been to a few more around the city but English level is always really low.

honestly the dealership experience in bangkok is hit or miss, i found the one on vibhavadi rangsit road to be decent. it's a bit out of the way but the staff there are used to dealing with foreigners who live up north of the city. ask for the aftersales manager, khun somchai, he handles most of the expat maintenance stuff and his english is proper, not just basic car vocab.

if you're dealing with a used car or just need parts, the toyota certified used car lot on rama 9 has a couple of guys who speak ok english. it's small but they're chill and won't push you around. just don't expect any fancy showroom vibes, it's all business there.

Toyota Phra Khanong on Sukhumvit 62 is worth a look, the sales team there handles a lot of the foreigners from the On Nut and Bang Chak areas, so their English is workable. The showroom itself is nothing special, but the service side runs a tight ship and they're quick on Line, which is where you'll do most of the real talking anyway.

If you're flexible on location, the Toyota dealership on Chaengwattana Road near the government complex has a few staff who speak proper English, mostly because they get embassy and ministry types coming through. It's a pain to reach, so I'd only bother if you're already north of the city, but the after-sales guys there are more patient than most.

yeah the srinakarin one is solid but if you're further west try toyota thonburi on ratchadaphisek. not the fanciest place but the sales guys there speak fine english, they deal with a lot of foreign buyers from the riverside condos. ask for khun pong, he's straight up and won't waste your time.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
