Is NIDA Bangkok good for MBA ?

If yes, do international students really study there ? If yes, do international students really study there ?

honestly NIDA is decent if you're targeting the Thai job market, not so much for a global brand name. the MBA program is solid for local networking, lots of government and state enterprise folks there. international students do exist but it's a small crowd, mostly from neighboring countries like Myanmar or Vietnam, not a big western mix. if you're after an international vibe you'd prob get more of that at Chula or Sasin, but those cost way more. NIDA's campus is quiet, out near Bang Kapi, so don't expect the city center buzz.

it really depends on what u want out of it. the profs are mostly thai academics, some with great connections but the vibe is more like a government think tank than a business school. if ur already working in bangkok and need the paper for a promotion, it's fine. but if ur fresh out of undergrad expecting a transformative MBA experience, u might feel a bit underwhelmed. international students are there, sure, but they tend to cluster together and stick to the asean region. i remember the orientation was mostly in thai, which caught a few foreigners off guard.

i'd say it works if u know what ur getting into. the teaching style is pretty traditional, lots of theory and group reports, not the case-study heavy stuff u see at sasin. class schedule is flexible tho, good if ur working while studying. international presence is real but small, like maybe 10-15% of the class. some thai students barely speak english, so u'll need to adapt if ur not fluent in thai. the real perk is the price, way cheaper than the private unis, and the degree carries weight with local employers if u pair it with

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
