honestly skip the tourist strip spots around Sukhumvit, they'll charge you 600+ baht a gram for stuff that's barely mid. for rosin you want to check places that cater to locals, not instagram. I'd hit up the smaller shops in Ekkamai or Thonglor, they usually have a proper deli-style counter where you can ask for the "squishy" buds, they know exactly what you mean. prices there are more like 300-400 baht a gram for decent flower, and they'll let you squeeze the bag before buying.

online is hit or miss tbh, lots of fake reviews. but there's a few line groups that are legit, just ask any budtender for the local telegram channel, they'll point you. my go-to is a place called "High Garden" near Phra Khanong BTS, small but they cure their own stuff and have a few strains that press really well, like a purple punch that gives you that wet bubble hash smell. just ask for something with high terpene content and visible trichomes, they won't bullshit you. and nah, you won't find top-shelf live rosin quality bud everywhere, but it's out there if you're willing to walk a bit off the main roads.

Yeah the Ekkamai tip is solid, but if you want to skip the hunt entirely, check out the weed vending machines near On Nut. Some are from actual farms and you can scan a QR for the lab test sheet, moisture levels included. I grabbed a batch of Gorilla Glue there that pressed like butter, around 350 a gram.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
