Boat taxis in bangkok on Google maps?

Is there another app on Android that will give me all the different routes including boat taxi routes.

the via bus and boat app is the one most locals use for the khlong routes, but it's kinda clunky. another thing u can do is just search "saen saep express boat" on facebook, they post the official timetable and any route changes. the bang kapi pier is the eastern terminus so u'll always get a seat if u board there, heads up the green flag boats are less crowded in the morning but take way longer, orange is the move if u're in a rush. also the canal walkway on the side is great for shortcuts if u're going to the mall, sometimes faster than the boat honestly

honestly just download the "transit" app, it's got the saen saep line listed with stops and times. but tbh the real trick is knowing the boat colors, orange goes express, yellow is the slower one, and they both run the same khlong past bang kapi. if u're heading towards pratunam or the old town, the orange boat is your best bet, it's faster and skips some stops. also, the piers are pretty close together so even if u get off at the wrong one, it's a 5 min walk usually.

google maps is pretty useless for the khlong boats tbh. grab the "via bus and boat" app instead, it's old but works, or just use the official "khlong boat" line info from the mae klong or saen saep websites. saen saep is the one you'll be near at bang kapi, and it's the main east-west route. also, once u're at the pier, just look for the orange flags, those are the express boats, and the green ones are slower but fine. the boats stop every 5-10 mins so even if u miss one it's no big deal.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
