Do I need to clear security checks when transiting in Bangkok?

I'm traveling on Thai Airways to Vientiane and transiting in Bangkok.

Do I need to go through the security check again upon arrival in Bangkok?

just to add, if you're coming in on a tight connection under 75 minutes, there's a shortcut past the duty free shops near the central concourse that cuts off a few hundred meters of walking. most people miss it because it's behind the king power section. also worth noting that BKK doesn't have a separate transit security check for international-to-international, you're already in the sterile zone so you just keep moving. the bottleneck is usually the escalators down to the A gates if you're going that way, those get packed around noon

flying Thai Airways both legs means you're staying in the same terminal, so no extra security screening needed unless you leave the transit zone. if you're coming from an international flight and connecting to another international one, you just walk to the next gate. the connection corridor at BKK is pretty straightforward, just follow the green signs for "Flight Connections" and you'll be fine

honestly you're overthinking it, the transit at BKK is one of the smoothest in asia. just follow the purple signs for connecting flights and you'll skip all the passport control nonsense. the only minor annoyance is if your gate is way down at the D concourse, that's a bit of a walk but the moving walkways help

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
