IS DMK ACCESSIBLE BY MRT?

As the title suggests, I am keen to know if we can take the BTS/MRT to DMK?

If yes, how do we do it?

Closest station to our hotel is Ramkhamhaeng.

Please help me out. Thank you so much.

You can get to DMK by train but it's the SRT Dark Red line, not the BTS or MRT. From Ramkhamhaeng, take a taxi or Grab to Hua Mak station on the Airport Rail Link, go one stop to Ramkhamhaeng ARL, then switch to the MRT at Phetchaburi and ride to Bang Sue. That might sound like a lot of transfers but it's actually pretty smooth once you've done it once. The SRT Dark Red line from Bang Sue to Don Mueang takes about 15 minutes and the station is literally connected to the airport terminal, so you walk straight in. Just keep in mind the SRT runs every 20-30 minutes and stops around midnight, so don't try it if your flight is at 2am.

You're right that the Ramkhamhaeng area doesn't have a direct MRT or BTS route to DMK, but there's a slightly simpler way than the full Airport Rail Link shuffle. From Ramkhamhaeng station on the Airport Rail Link, ride one stop to Hua Mak, then take a short taxi or motorbike taxi (about 30 baht) to the SRT Dark Red line's Hua Mak station instead of going all the way to Bang Sue. That SRT station is newer and less crowded, and the train goes straight to Don Mueang in about 25 minutes. Just check the schedule on the SRT app because the Dark Red line runs every 20-30 minutes and stops around 10pm, so it's not great for late flights.

yeah you can get to DMK by train but it's the SRT not BTS/MRT. from Ramkhamhaeng your best bet is taking the Airport Rail Link from Ramkhamhaeng station to Makkasan, then switch to MRT Phetchaburi to get to Bang Sue, then hop on the SRT Dark Red line straight to Don Mueang station. it's like 2 stops from Bang Sue and the station drops you right at the terminal, super conveinent. just check the SRT schedule beforehand cause the trains don't run super often, maybe every 20-30 mins. costs like 30-40 baht total, way cheaper than a taxi honestly

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
