honestly they're real but the whole "massage" part is usually a joke. most of these places are just front for sex work, you're not getting any actual therapeutic benefit. the ones on Sukhumvit between Soi 22 and Soi 26 are a mixed bag, some will quote you 500 baht for a massage then try to squeeze 3000 for a handjob after you're already oiled up. better to just go to a proper soapy massage place on Ratchada where the price includes everything upfront, like around 2000-3000 baht for the full deal. just dont expect any actual muscle work, they'll spend like 10 minutes lightly rubbing your back then flip you over

Yes, they're real. You'll find them mostly in areas like Sukhumvit, especially around Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza, but also scattered in places like Ratchada and Patpong. The ones that don't cheat you are usually the mid-range places that quote a clear price upfront for the "extra" service, not the dirt cheap ones that try to upsell you after you're naked on the table. For a straightforward experience, places like Eden's Club or some of the soapy massage spots on Ratchadaphisek Road are known for being reliable, though you'll pay around 2,500 to 4,000 baht depending on what you want. Just be aware that many of these places are outright brothels with a massage table in the room, not actual therapeutic massage shops.

just check out the soi 33 area, lots of places there that are pretty straightforward about what they offer. read google reviews before going in, the fake ones are usually obvious with generic praise

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
