Recently, a few posts and comments popped up asking why posts and comments get downvoted so often despite not being offensive or of bad quality.

The answer that most agreed on was that it was because regular Redditors are tired of answering the same stuff every time, especially when there are almost identical threads in the archives, let alone searchable within a 2 minute Google search, which is understandable.

I proposed to "steal" the solution r/Thailand came up with not too long ago (and my comment was promptly downvoted, the irony...). Over there, they create a monthly FAQ thread pinned to the top (example) that contains the, well, "frequently answered questions."

I find this idea very effective in combating the endless cycle of "Where is the best noodle stall" in Bangkok or "Where do I find drug XYZ."

So, this post is addressed to both the regular r/Bangok users to ask what you guys think about this idea and to the mods to ask whether they can imagine implementing such a monthly FAQ thread (assuming the majority of users agree to that, of course).

What do you guys think? Would a monthly FAQ thread help reduce annoyingly repetitive questions, and would the community (and mods) support it?

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
