Will it be hard to catch the boxing tomorrow live and will it be worth watching anywhere live ?

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

catch the boxing as in muay thai? depends which stadium you mean. rajadamnern and lumpinee both have shows most nights, but tickets at the walk-up window are way cheaper than online. if you just show up an hour early you'll be fine, unless it's a big championship card then book ahead.

watching ringside is a whole experience, the energy is insane and you can hear the kicks land. but honestly the cheaper seats up top give u a better view of the whole fight. grab a seat near the front of the upper section if u can.

if ur just looking for any live fight, there's also smaller stadiums like channel 7 stadium on sundays, free entry but it's more of a local vibe. worth it if u want authenticity over the tourist show. just check the schedule before u go, some days are slow.

honestly if you mean the big fight cards at rajadamnern, yeah you'll be fine getting in even on the night. the tourist shows are always on but the real atmosphere kicks in around 8pm, so don't rock up too early and watch empty seats. grab a chang from the vendors outside, it's half the price of inside.

if you want the raw version, skip the main stadiums and hit a local bar with the thai broadcast. soi cowboy or suk soi 4 have spots that put it on big screens with actual commentary, plus you get the crowd reactions which is half the fun. way cheaper than a ticket and you can leave whenever.

worst case, your hotel lobby tv will have it on channel 7 or true4u, but that's like watching a funeral compared to being there. if you're only in town for one night, just pay the 1500 baht and sit ringside, it's a memory you won't forget.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
