I'm looking to get a one year lease on a car. Toyota kinto got a good deal on the Yaris but I'm a bit leaning towards the Nissan Almera. Anyone here had leased from Nissan in the past?

I leased a Nissan Almera for a year back in 2022 and it was fine for getting around town. The fuel economy is decent and the trunk is roomier than the Yaris which mattered to me for hauling stuff from the weekend market. What I'd warn about is the CVT transmission feels sluggish when you're merging onto the expressway near Din Daeng, so take it for a proper test drive on a longer route before you commit. Nissan's lease terms were straightforward at the time but their aftersales response took a week for a minor AC issue I had.

honestly for a one year lease in Bangkok id prob skip both and look at what Mazda or Suzuki are offering. the Almera's interior feels a bit cheap compared to the Yaris and Nissan's service centers here are hit or miss, especially if you're out near rama 2 or bang na. kinto's deal is solid cause it includes insurance and maintenance which saves headaches, but if you really want the Almera go check out the nissan showroom on phra ram 9 soi 17 first to see if the build quality bugs u

I've had a couple colleagues go through Nissan leasing and the main complaint was always the handover process. They'll document every tiny thing on the car when you pick it up and then compare it against that same checklist when you return it. The Almera is a fine city car for Sukhumvit traffic but that CVT drone gets old fast if you're doing any distance. If you're set on Nissan, push for the 1-year lease with the higher mileage cap, their standard 15,000km limit can bite you if you take weekend trips to Pattaya or Hua Hin.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
