How's Bangkok comedy and improv scene?
The scene has definitely grown over the past few years. If you're looking for something more underground, there's The Hive in Thonglor which hosts occasional improv nights and open mic storytelling events, though they're not as regular as the bigger venues. For a different vibe, check out the Bangkok Community Theatre's social media, they sometimes collaborate with comedy groups for sketch shows at their Ekkamai space. Entry fees are usually around 200-300 baht for those smaller events.
yeah the scene's pretty alive actually, there's a group called The BKK Comedy Club that does open mics at The Dubliner on Sukhumvit 22 every tuesday night. it's super chill, mostly expats but always a mix of nationalities, and they're real welcoming to newcomers if you wanna try it yourself
honestly it's smaller than you'd think for a city this size but there's a solid little scene. the big one is The Comedy Club Bangkok on Soi 11, they do standup most nights and it's mostly expat comics with some thai acts mixed in. for improv, check out Bangkok Improv, they have workshops and shows at various venues around Sukhumvit, usually around 300-400 baht entry
best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026
yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
