Every once in a while I get something that might pass as decent, but I can neve… Yeah I know, dumb post, but I always screw it up. Yes, I use the butt gun, religiously, but in combo with toilet paper.
Every once in a while I get something that might pass as decent, but I can never remember which one. that have the most confusing labels like 2x and "extra" with some crap written in Thai.
Inevitability I will get some brand I think is thicker, but it is just more per roll (hence the 2x label). I would like something thicker and soft, not 2x more per roll.
I can't think of the brands off the top of my head, maybe Scott is the big one, but most all suck here. Is there something I should be looking for?
fwiw the ones at Makro in the bulk packs are actually decent for the price. The brand is called M-Pak, blue packaging, 3-ply. Not luxury soft but way better than the stuff that feels like tracing paper. I grab a 24-pack for like 250 baht and it lasts forever
Yeah the labels are a mess here. Look for the ones that say "3 ply" or "3 ชั้น" on the package, that's usually the soft stuff. The Cellox brand in the purple bag is pretty good, I've been using that for a while and it doesn't feel like sandpaper.
Scott makes a decent one called Scott Extra Soft, it's in a green package. You can find it at Big C or Lotus, the 3-ply stuff is actually pretty good and doesn't disintegrate on you.
best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026
yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
