What to visit/see as gaming and anime fan?

It's been over 20 years since I've been to Bangkok and I only remember the arcades that were on the shopping mall top floors. Is this still the case? So far I only got MBK on my list. yeah mega plaza is the spot but also check out seacon square, it's a bit further out but they have a whole floor of import games and anime stuff that's way less touristy than the malls. the arcade scene is still alive but it's more about those dedicated floors now, like the one at central world has a good mix of newer cabinets and some old fighting games. if u want physical media for games or anime, fortune town's third floor has a couple stalls that have been there forever with used imports and bootlegs mixed in

mega plaza at pratunam is where you wanna go, it's like 5 floors of nothing but anime figures, gundam kits, and import games. way better than mbk for that stuff now tbh

oh man MBK is still solid for sure but honestly most of the big arcades have moved underground or to dedicated gaming floors. check out the basement at Siam Paragon, they've got a huge round1-style place with rhythm games and claw machines. also if you're into retro stuff, there's a small shop near Fortune Town that sells old consoles and games, real hidden gem

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
