What next after moving? Did I forget something

The electricity, water, internet and cell phone plan are all set. I know I have to do my first 90 day report in person and my spouse needs to apply for trailing spouse extension on 60 day.

The next step is a bank account. Anything else that I should be doing that maybe I'm not aware of?

*edit. Condo agent submitted TM 30, condo owner is non Thai living outside Thailand

imo the bank account should be your priority since some things need a thai bank account to work smoothly. if ur on a non-o visa, try bangkok bank or kasikorn, they're usually more chill with farangs. bring ur lease, passport, and work permit if u have one, and expect to sit there for like an hour.

also get a 7-11 sim card for a second line if ur phone supports dual sim. sometimes u need a thai number for apps like grab or lineman that dont play nice with international numbers, and 7-11 prepaid plans are like 200 baht a month.

one thing that caught me off guard was the annual residency certificate from immigration. u dont need it right away but if u ever apply for a driver's license or extend ur visa, they might ask for one. costs 500 baht and takes a day at the immigration office near u.

You should get a yellow tabien baan (house registration book) if you're on a long-term visa. It makes things like getting a driver's license or opening certain bank accounts much smoother. The process varies by district office but bring your lease, passport, and a witness who owns property in Thailand.

For the TM30, even though the agent submitted it, double check that your condo juristic person office has a copy. Some management offices are strict about tracking it themselves and will fine you if it's not on file with them directly.

Also grab a Thai driver's license once you're settled. Your home country license plus an international permit works for a few months, but the Thai one is valid for two years on a non-immigrant visa and saves you hassle with traffic stops. You'll need a medical certificate from a clinic, which costs about 200 baht and takes 10 minutes.

honestly the driver's license thing is a good shout but also grab a rabbit card for the BTS if you're gonna be using it a lot. saves u fumbling for change every time

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
