Foodie or delicatessen shops in Bangkok?

Hi there,

Trying to find places that stock foodie / luxury or non luxury foodie products to take home with me? For example, spices etc

A chef in need!

Thanks

honestly if you're after real foodie stuff, skip the malls and hit up Wang Lang market on the Thonburi side. there's a few old-school shops tucked near the pier that sell homemade curry pastes and dried spices in these big woven baskets, no fancy packaging but the quality is legit. grab some of their kao kua (toasted rice powder) for som tam, it's like 20 baht a bag and way better than the supermarket stuff. also check out the little shophouse on Soi Charoenkrung 36 that does imported European cheeses and cured meats, it's called Baan Somtum but they have a hidden deli section in the back

You should head to Yaowarat, Bangkok's Chinatown, for spices and dried goods that are hard to find elsewhere. The stretch of Trok Itsaranuphap has tiny shops selling star anise, Sichuan peppercorns, and dried shrimp by the kilo for cheap. For something more polished, V Spa Grocery on Lang Suan has imported Italian olive oils and truffle products, but you'll pay a premium.

Try Or Tor Kor market near Chatuchak. It's like a foodie heaven with premium dried spices, local sea salt, and even those weird preserved fruits that chefs actually use. Not some tourist trap. Also check out Gourmet Market at Siam Paragon if you want overpriced tru

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
