I know pretty much every Japanese restaurant has a tonkatsu curry on the menu. But any curry-specific restaurants? Or any restaurant that does a particularly good curry? i'd skip the chains and hit up samurai curry in the thong lor area. it's a tiny spot that does a solid hokkaido-style soup curry, which is a bit different from the standard thick sauce you see everywhere. they let you pick your spice level and the broth is light but really flavorful, goes great with the roasted veggies they pile on top. just a heads up it's cash only and closes early, like 8pm most nights

there's a place called jiyu curry near phra khanong bts that does a pretty focused japanese curry menu. they do the whole thickness vs spice level thing which i haven't seen elsewhere in bangkok, plus their chicken karaage curry is way better than the standard tonkatsu version imo. it's a small shop so seating is tight around lunch but worth it

You people really can't use a search bar, can you. Kokoro in the Ekkamai area does a decent Japanese curry that's actual restaurant quality, not some frozen katsu slapped on day-old rice. It's a small chain so there are a few locations around town but the one

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
