Dog owners, do you leave AC on for your dogs at home the whole day when you're outside?

When I'm at work during the day, should I keep the AC on or is having windows open enough for the dog? I dont mind turning on the AC for the dog, but just would like to know how other dog owners are managing the heat. TY!

I've got a golden retriever and run the AC from about 9am to 6pm on weekdays. I set it to 28 degrees, which is just cool enough to keep the apartment bearable without running up a crazy bill. The monthly electricity jump is around 1,500 baht during the hot season, which I think is worth it to not worry. Windows alone won't do it in a condo, the ventilation is usually terrible and it just gets stuffy by midday.

fwiw I do half and half - AC on a timer for the hottest part of the day (11am-3pm) set to 26, then just fans and curtains drawn the rest. my dog sleeps most of the day anyway and the apartment stays decent if you block the afternoon sun. electric bill only went up like 800 baht doing it that way vs full day

honestly yeah i leave the ac on for my dog all day. windows open in bangkok is basically just hot air and noise, not gonna cut it. i set it to like 27c so it's not freezing but just takes the edge off the heat. my vet said dogs can get heatstroke real fast here so better safe than sorry

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
