Watching Championsleague?

Anybody interested in watching Munich - Real on Tuesday? And does anybody know a place who shows it at 2am? Anybody interested in watching Munich - Real on Tuesday? And does anybody know a place who shows it at 2am?

You could try O'Shea's on Soi 11/1, they usually keep going until the final whistle for Champions League semis. The owner is Irish and a proper football fan so he gets why people want to watch it live rather than a replay the next day. Just be prepared for a rowdy crowd if Real scores, the Munich fans get loud there.

The Sportsman on Sukhumvit 13 is probably your best bet for a 2am kickoff, they stay open late for the big CL matches. If you want somewhere quieter though, try The Robin Hood on Sukhumvit 33/1, it's a bit tucked away but they've shown late games before and the food is decent. Just call either place around midnight to confirm, sometimes they change plans if the crowd doesn't show up early.

gotta be honest none of the sukhumvit places are gonna beat a proper football pub vibe at that hour. there's a spot called The Olde Bell on silom soi 8 that's been showing late CL games for years, they've got a dedicated back room with a projector and the sound stays on till the final whistle. it's mostly regulars who know each other so you might feel like an outsider at first but the owner's a mad munich fan and will probs buy you a round if you're wearing red. just take a grab there, soi 8 is a bit sketchy on foot after midnight

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
