Where to buy Cheap luggage?

Hello! I am in Bangkok and need to buy more luggages ( big bags or suitcases). Any recommendations on where I could buy cheap luggages in Bangkok please? Thanks a lot Hello! For cheap luggage, head to MBK Center at the Siam BTS stop. The entire 4th and 5th floors have dozens of stalls selling suitcases and duffel bags, often for 500 to 1,500 baht depending on size and quality. If you're near a Big C or Tesco Lotus supermarket, they also carry basic travel bags for under 1,000 baht that will get you through a trip. Just check the zippers and wheels before buying since the really cheap ones can be hit or miss.

if you're already out near bang khae or can make the trip, the tesco lotus there has a surprisingly solid luggage section in the basement. they stock those generic polycarbonate shells for like 600-900 baht and the in-house brand is actually decent for the price. also check the local chatuchak-style markets on weekday evenings, there's one under the expressway near wongwian yai that sometimes has stalls selling overstock from pratunam wholesalers for dirt cheap. just test the handles before you buy, those cheap retractable ones snap fast

try the pratunam area near baiyoke tower, loads of wholesale shops selling suitcases for like 300-700 baht. not the best quality but fine for a quick trip.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
