If you're near the BTS, the small electronics stalls in the basement of Siam Square (the soi directly across from Siam Paragon) usually carry universal aircon remotes for around 200 baht. I've picked up a couple there over the years and they've always worked fine straight out of the box.

For a proper repair, there's a guy on the second floor of MBK who specializes in remote controls and small electronics. He's in the corner near the food court escalators and can usually diagnose the issue in a minute. Just be aware he's cash only and closes around 6pm.

honestly just take the remote to Amorn on the ground floor of Fortune Town, they have rows of universal replacements for like 150-300 baht. bring your old one so you can match the button layout, some of teh cheap ones have weird configurations

if you want to fix it specifically, the electronics shop on the 3rd floor of Pantip Plaza (the one with all the loose components) can prob solder a new IR LED or check the board for you. they charged me like 50 baht to fix a TV remote once

fwiw half the time the problem is just corrosion on the battery terminals, try scraping them with a screwdriver first

another option is homepro or power buy, they sell universal remotes in the appliance section for like 250-400 baht depending on brand. just check the model list on the back of the package before buying, some don't cover daikin or mitsubishi

if you're near chinatown, the shops along charoen krung road near yaowarat have guys who can fix almost anything with a circuit board. i had a remote that got water damaged and they cleaned the board with alcohol for like 80 baht, worked again after drying overnight

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
