I have a one night stay in Bangkok in on a Wednesday. Are there any night markets worth going to on a week night? We'll be staying near Lumphini Park.

Also I'd love some suggestions for vegan/vegetarian friendly restaurants!

honestly the train night market at srinakarin is worth the cab ride even on a wednesday, it's a bit south but way bigger than huai khwang. if you want something closer, the rot fai ratchada used to be the go-to but it's been kinda dead on weeknights lately

for vegan food, i'd check out veganerie on sathorn, it's a 10 minute grab from lumphini and their pad thai is solid. there's also broccoli revolution near phrom phong if you want something western-ish, they do a mean vegan burger

yeah a few spots are open on wednesdays. the one that comes to mind is huai khwang night market, it's not too far from lumphini and stays busy even on weeknights. good for street food vibes, and there's a decent vegan spot nearby called may veggie home on pracha rat bamphen road, they do thai dishes with mock meat

for wednesday nights, talad neon on ratchadaphisek is pretty solid - it's a 15 min walk from lumphini or quick grab ride. it's more curated than the chaotic markets but still has real food stalls and some vintage clothes booths

on the vegan front, may veggie home is great as someone mentioned but also check out ethos on suk 24 if you want something more laid back. they do this raw pad thai that's surprisingly filling, and their mango sticky rice is legit. it's in a little soi near phrom phong, about 100 baht grab ride from your hotel

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
