Is the third day of Songkran quieter or is it still going in?

I am just wondering if it is safe to go out without being splashed and wet on the third day.

I have only been here for a month so I am clueless.

honestly it depends where you are. khao san road and silom will still be a war zone on day three, but if you stay in a residential area like ari or ekamai it's way more chill. people are mostly just doing family stuff by then, so you can walk around without getting soaked as long as you avoid the main party spots

Day three is much more about family visits and temple merit-making than the water fights. You'll see locals driving around with their pickup trucks full of relatives, not teenagers with water guns. If you stick to the areas around temples or residential neighborhoods you'll mostly just get polite wai greetings instead of buckets of water. Just avoid the main backpacker streets and you'll be fine walking around without a raincoat.

Third day is usually winding down by afternoon, but mornings can still be wet in tourist areas.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
