same issue in silom. the 7-11 near sala daeng bts has been out of the premium ones for like 10 days and the staff just shrug when i ask. the replacement ones are from a different cp subsidiary called food & beverage or something, they come in a slightly different wrapper with a blue stripe instead of red.

if u want something close, the 7-11 at the bottom of robinson silom (the one inside the department store) still had the good ones yesterday. their press is also maintained better, the staff actually clean it between uses lol

I've been tracking this across about a dozen 7-11s near Thong Lo and it seems like the premium sandwiches disappeared around February 5th, which lines up with what others are saying about the Rangsit factory issue. What nobody's mentioned yet is that the replacement sandwiches with the blue stripe wrapper are actually meant for a different toasting setting. I noticed the staff at the 7-11 on Soi 55 got it right after I pointed out the wrapper says "press 55 seconds" instead of the usual 45. The bread still isn't as good but at least it comes out warm and crispy instead of soggy.

If you're really craving the original texture, the 7-11 at the bottom of the EmQuartier office tower on Sukhumvit 35 has a separate refrigerated section near the bakery counter where they stock the premium ones as part of their lunch set promotion. They keep them separate from the regular sandwich cooler and the staff there are trained differently because the location serves a lot of office workers who complain.

yeah the supply chain thing is real but it's more about the distributor than 7-11 itself. the premium sandwiches come from a specific cp factory in rangsit and they've been having production issues since last month. i know a guy who works at their warehouse and he said they switched some lines to make more of the cheap ones cause the demand for the premium dropped after they raised the price to 35 baht.

if u want the real deal try the family mart on siam square soi 5, they still carry the same supplier's sandwich under their own brand and it's basically identical. the bread toasts exactly the same and the staff there actually know what they're doing with the press.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
