honestly skip the big hospital style places for something like a crown replacement. thonglor dental center on sukhumvit 55 has a couple of prosthodontists who trained at UCSF and they do really meticulous work. the cleaning there is also solid, they use a microscope for scaling which is way more thorough than standard cleanings.

for a second opinion on that crown, dr. warongporn at smile dental care on silom is worth a visit. she's board certified from the US and her lab work is high quality, especially for anterior crowns where aesthetics matter. the clinic itself is small but well organized, and she usually runs on time.

i had a crown done at BIDH once and it was fine but the follow up adjustments took three visits which felt excessive. for the price you're paying id expect better efficiency.

honestly skip bidh if you want us-trained dentists, most of them are thai or european trained there. try bangkok hospital dental in sathorn, they have a few us board-certified dentists and the clinic itself is super organized. their cleanings are thorough, they use ultrasonic scalers and actually check pockets, not just a quick polish. for the crown replacement, dr. somchai at bnh hospital on konvent road did mine and it was seamless, no wait time chaos and the lab work came back in 3 days

if you're after us-trained dentists and a tight ship, try bumrungrad's dental center. dr. thomas there is us board certified and their crown work is solid, they use digital scanning instead of the goopy impression stuff. the cleaning i got was on par with my old nyc dentist, they even did a fluoride varnish without asking which i appreciated. it's pricier than bidh but the whole setup feels more like a western clinic.

another one to consider is denta joy on sathorn 12. small practice but dr. pattara did her residency at ucla and she's meticulous. she replaced a crown for me and it fit perfectly from the first try, no adjustments needed. the cleaning was thorough too but the booking system can be a bit annoying, sometimes you wait 15 minutes even with an appointment

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
