Hi if i go back to UK how do i get all my money tranfered to UK

I tried to send a small amount the other day to pay a bill They refused to send it to my uk account They also wanted proof on the bill i was paying

So how do i send all my money back if they are causing problems over £200

Has anyone done this before Thanks in advance

The £200 refusal was probably because you used a service that flags payments as "remittances" rather than personal transfers. If you're with Kasikorn or Bangkok Bank, go to a main branch and ask for a SWIFT transfer to your UK account. They'll want your passport, visa, and work permit if you have one, but for amounts under $50,000 it's usually straightforward.

For moving everything at once, you can split it into multiple smaller SWIFT transfers over a few days if needed. SCB and Krungsri are also good for this. Take a statement from your UK account showing the destination is yours, that often satisfies the compliance check they're doing.

You need a proper bank-to-bank transfer, not a bill payment service. Most Thai banks will let you do a SWIFT transfer from your branch, but you'll need to show the teller your UK bank details and possibly your passport. For amounts over $50,000 equivalent, the bank will ask for source of funds documentation like your work contract or tax returns.

If you're dealing with Kasikorn or Bangkok Bank, they have London branches that can make things smoother. Bangkok Bank actually has a New York correspondent account that clears in USD same day, then you convert to GBP on the UK side. Just walk into a main branch, not a small counter, and ask for the international remittance officer.

The £200 rejection sounds like you tried a domestic transfer service that's not set up for international wires. For larger amounts, you'll want to use a dedicated forex service like TransferWise or Deel, which work fine with Thai bank accounts and usually clear in 1-2 days.

honestly just use wise (used to be transferwise) it's way less hassle than dealing with thai banks directly. set up the transfer from your uk side not thailand and it goes through fine

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
