Where to buy artificial flowers in Bangkok?

Hello! Anyone know where I can buy artificial flowers? I found some on AliExpress but wondering if there are nicer ones in Bangkok. Thanks. Hello! Anyone know where I can buy artificial flowers? I found some on AliExpress but wondering if there are nicer ones in Bangkok. Thanks.

yeah so there's a spot most tourists never find, it's called the flower floor at Platinum Fashion Mall, not the usual garment floors but the top one. they have a few stalls tucked near the escalators that sell really good quality latex and silk stems, not the shiny plastic stuff. prices start around 50 baht per stem but if you buy a whole bunch they'll throw in a discount, plus they do those cute little potted succulents too. also if you're into dried flowers, there's a tiny shop on the ground floor of the River City mall that mixes dried with fake, makes really unique arrangements. just don't go on weekends, it's a zoo.

The best kept secret is the fake flower wholesalers around Ban Mo, near the Giant Swing. It's not a fancy area, but the shops spill out onto the sidewalks and they stock everything from cheap plastic stems to surprisingly detailed foam orchids. You can buy by the bundle for a fraction of what you'd pay at Chatuchak, just be ready to negotiate. If you need something very specific like a particular color of cherry blossom, give them a day and they'll usually order it from their supplier.

honestly skip aliexpress, the shipping alone makes it not worth it. if u're already in bkk, try the weekend market but go to the back section near the art area, not the main flower stalls. the ones by the JJ mall entrance are mostly plastic junk. i found a shop on the second floor of the old siam square soi 2 that does custom arrangements, they'll make u a bouquet with real-looking peonies and hydrangeas for like 300 baht more than the market price but the quality is way better. also worth checking out the floral shops along the khlong near the golden mount temple, they do a lot of wedding displays so the stock is fresh and varied.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
