honestly skip Siam Center for what you're after, it's more mall-core and curated. Union Mall is the move but also check out the weekend market area around Chatuchak, there's a whole section of vintage stalls tucked in the back near section 5 that have real Y2K pieces for like 100-200 baht. also MBK Center has this floor (4th) with tiny shops selling deadstock tees and baggy jeans, way more chaotic and cheaper than Siam. just gotta dig through racks for a bit

Union Mall is definitely your vibe for grunge and Y2K stuff, way cheaper and more chaotic than Siam Center. Siam Center has some cool local brands but tends to lean a bit pricier and more polished.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
