Ask whether the stall covers meals and transport, because that's often worth 20 to 30 thousand won a shift.

Meals usually means one staff bowl, not three.

plus leftovers at close, if you're lucky

one bowl & a shared pot of ramyeon after close

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Good point, though some stalls only cover transport if you're commuting past the river, so clarify the cutoff before agreeing to a shift.

usually just a gimbap roll & a bus token tbh

Weekend market shifts around Hongdae usually run ₩100,000 to ₩130,000 a day cash, more if you're on the grill versus front counter. That's groceries money, not rent, so most people I know treat it as a supplement to a weekday job.

cash rate drops to like 90k on rainy days when stalls close early, so factor that in

and stalls shut by 3pm on those days too

the saturday slot pays better than sunday since the crowd peaks earlier, so grab that one if u can

Best early morning coffee near Daybreak Cafe Seoul 2026

Anyone know if Daybreak Cafe still opens at 7am on weekdays? I'm usually around Mapo-gu before work and need a decent flat white that early. There's a small roastery called Ssen on the Mapo backstreets off Dongmak-ro that pulls a solid flat white from 7:30, cash only though. If you're truly stuck before then, the 24-hour Paris Baguette on World Cup buk-ro does an okay americano, not a flat white.

Ssen's flat white is solid but they don't do takeaway cups, so bring your own if you're rushing.

Daybreak's weekday 7am open still holds, but the flat white at Coffee Libre's World Cup-ro branch beats it, and they open at 7:30.

Agreed on Coffee Libre, though the World Cup-ro queue after 7:30 can eat ten minutes, so I'd get there right at open.
