My luggage vanished. Seriously. Checked in, went to my room, everything seemed normal. Came back from a meeting, and POOF. Gone. Hotel staff were helpful, but the whole experience was stressful. I'm wondering if this is a common issue, or if I just got incredibly unlucky? Did anyone else have a similar experience at the Kukdo or other Best Westerns in @Seoul?

I haven't heard of luggage disappearing from Kukdo specifically, but that area around Euljiro 4-ga is a weird mix of old industrial alleys and business hotels. If the hotel was that unhelpful, try contacting the Seoul Tourist Police hotline at 1330. They handle a lot of these hotel disputes and can mediate with the management in Korean, which often gets better results than chasing the airline alone. Also double check if you left the "do not disturb" sign on your door, because sometimes housekeeping skips those rooms entirely and your bag could be sitting in a lost-and-found closet down the hall.

That's awful! Lost luggage is the worst. I've never had that happen at a Best Western, but I've heard horror stories about luggage disappearing from hotels in @Seoul, though not specifically that one. Did you file a full report with the hotel and your airline/travel insurance? Those are your best bets for getting some compensation. Seriously, chase those claims hard, it's a hassle, but worth it. Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah, it's a total nightmare. I did report it to both the Kukdo hotel and the airline, but the airline's response has been...slow. The hotel was surprisingly unhelpful, just kept saying to contact the airline. Guess I'll be digging my heels in and chasing both of them relentlessly. It's mostly the sentimental stuff I'm worried about, honestly, more than the actual value. Ugh.

man that sucks, sorry. i've stayed at kukdo a few times but never had anything close to that happen. honestly i'd be checking if the room key was cloned or something, seems weird it vanished that fast. maybe ask the front desk for cctv footage if u haven't already

Adventure Park jobs in Seoul 2026: what do they pay?

What does an hourly wage there actually come to after tax, and can anyone realistically cover rent and living costs in Seoul on it? I'd like to hear from people who've done a season rather than the job posting figures.

The 4대보험 hit is real but the bigger issue is hours getting cut in the rainy stretch of 장마, so your monthly total swings a lot. I'd ask current staff about the actual shift schedule before signing, not the posted rate.

Image birga local ·

장마 shifts get cut first, ask about 우천 대체 근무

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Image sybilla local ·

for real, and the rainy day shifts they swap you into are usually shorter, so ask how many actual hours a week you'd get

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image babette local ·

also worth knowing that shift cuts depend on which attraction you're assigned to. indoor rides keep running through the wet weeks so those crews stay close to full hours while outdoor ones get sent home early. ask which ride you'd be on before you sign anything.

Rain cuts hit hardest in July, so ask if 주휴수당 still applies on weeks you drop under 15 hours.

Check the contract's 근로계약서 hours, that's the real tell.

Adventure Park runs on short seasonal contracts, so expect around minimum wage (10,320 won in 2025, maybe 10,500 in 2026) minus 4대보험, which drops your take-home more than people think. On that, a deposit-heavy Seoul rent is a stretch unless you share a place or live out near the park.

yeah but short contracts mean no severance either
