Gone. I filed a report, of course, but anyone else had this kind of nightmare at a high-end place like that? It's messing with my trip planning for @Tokyo next week... I should of checked the baggage claim area more thoroughly. It was such a stressful experience!

check if your hotel has a dedicated guest relations manager, not just the front desk. at the four seasons in jongno they have a whole team for this and they found my bag in like 2 hours cause the driver left it in the shuttle. also worth asking if they use any tracking tags for luggage, some of the newer places have rfid chips on the tags now

ngl the timing sucks with tokyo coming up so fast. a friend had this happen at the park hyatt and the bag showed up in the airport storage room somehow, like the hotel sent it ahead without telling them. might be worth checking if your hotel has a luggage forwarding service they use, some of them just assume you want it sent. also the seoul global center near jongno has english support for lost property stuff if you need backup talking to the hotel

If you haven't already, try calling the hotel's housekeeping department instead of just the front desk. At the Grand Hyatt in Yongsan, my bag ended up in a linen closet for three days because a housekeeper thought it was a guest's laundry. Also, double check if your hotel has a separate bell desk logbook, sometimes they write down tags but never actually input them into the computer system. For your Tokyo trip, keep a small bag with your essentials and a change of clothes in your carry-on, it's saved me more than once.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
