So I finally made it to this fancy Mirror Pond place, everyone raves about the view, but honestly? The ambiance was killer, total Instagram gold. But the fried chicken...was it really that legendary… So I finally made it to this fancy Mirror Pond place, everyone raves about the view, but honestly? The ambiance was killer, total Instagram gold. But the fried chicken...was it really that legendary? Or is everyone just caught up in the hype of the whole "romantic lake view" thing? I mean, the plating was perfect, but I've had better, crispier, juicier fried chicken from a hole-in-the-wall joint back home. Should of gone with the bulgogi, maybe. Anyone else feel like the chicken was a bit overrated?

Yeah, I get you. Mirror Pond's aesthetic is undeniably stunning, practically begs for a filter. But the fried chicken? Meh. It's good, don't get me wrong, but not life-changing good. I think people are paying for the experience more than the actual food. Their bulgogi is way better, though, that I'd recommend. There are tons of amazing fried chicken places in Seoul that don't cost an arm and a leg and actually deliver on the crispiness. You should check out some of the smaller spots in Hongdae, way more bang for your buck.

Totally get what you mean. Mirror Pond is gorgeous, I'll give you that. Picturesque AF. But overpriced for the quality of the fried chicken, huh? Good to know about the bulgogi though, will add that to the list! Hongdae, you say? I'm always up for exploring less touristy areas. Any recommendations for specific places in Hongdae? Or even just a street name to start with would be amazing.

The 4대보험 hit is real but the bigger issue is hours getting cut in the rainy stretch of 장마, so your monthly total swings a lot. I'd ask current staff about the actual shift schedule before signing, not the posted rate.

for real, and the rainy day shifts they swap you into are usually shorter, so ask how many actual hours a week you'd get

Adventure Park runs on short seasonal contracts, so expect around minimum wage (10,320 won in 2025, maybe 10,500 in 2026) minus 4대보험, which drops your take-home more than people think. On that, a deposit-heavy Seoul rent is a stretch unless you share a place or live out near the park.
