I will be completely new to the city and was hoping to make new friends and meet new people that can show me around. I am a 24 year old female, I enjoy alot of things such as gym, hiking, being surrounded by nature, I am very active and enjoy active activities. Looking forward to connect to new people. I am also a native English Speaker.

honestly, just go to a rock climbing gym. bouldering in particular is super low pressure and people just sit around talking between tries. the one in sangsu, the climb, has a cafe area where people hang out after. also if you're on the fitness side, the f45 in hongdae does partner workouts and the crowd is pretty social, i've seen people grab dinner after class all the time. for hiking, bukhansan is the obvious one but if you want something closer to the city, the namsan trail loop is chill and you'll run into the same people if you go around the same time on weekends

the seoul hiking community is pretty welcoming, especially if you join one of the facebook groups like "seoul hiking & nature group" they do weekend trips to bukhansan and even further out to places like suwon, usually meet up at a subway station and split cab fare. bukhansan is great but if you want a less crowded trail that still feels like proper nature, head to acha san in eastern seoul, it's quieter and has a nice view of the han river. a lot of the gyms in gangnam or hongdae actually have english-speaking classes too, like the 9round or f45 spots where people tend to be social after a session

Check out Meetup.com, tons of groups based on hobbies, from hiking clubs to fitness meetups. Also, see if your company has any social events planned for new employees. Even just striking up conversations with people at the gym or on hiking trails can lead to new friendships. Good luck with the move!

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
