Anyone looking for a complimentary Haircut, Perm and Colour/Bleach service in Seoul? I am a junior stylist currently training in Juno Academy.

Note: Customers will be responsible for covering the cost of the Perm and Coloring/Bleaching products used. This can range from ₩10,000 - ₩60,000. The service is completely free otherwise. This is a great way for anyone trying to save money without the risk of losing the quality you would get in a salon.

Please contact me for Booking/inquiries on Instagram or Kakaotalk Ig: @juno_jamesyoung Kakao ID: jemjem Open from Monday to Friday

I've been to Juno Academy in Hongdae before, they're legit. James is solid, he did a friend's bleach touch-up and the color held up way better than some of the salons near Ewha that charge 150k. Just know that the product cost can creep up if you're doing full-head bleach, so ask for a quote upfront before he starts mixing.

juno academy is in hongdae right near the main street exit 8, easy to find. just a heads up that their perm solution smells stronger than what you'd get at a regular salon, but the results are fine for the price. if you're doing color, bring a reference photo so he doesn't have to guess what you mean

I'd recommend going early in the week if you can, the product cost tends to be lower on less busy days since they use less expensive stock.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
