Weird/loud noise coming from the smoke alarm in our airbnb. Is the battery dying or is it something else?

About 3-4 times a day the noise goes off, scaring the crap out of me. The light flashes green so i don't think it's the battery, but I could be wrong. Any ideas for making it stop are welcome. honestly it might just be the humidity, seoul gets super muggy especially in summer and those cheap detectors are really sensitive to it. if it's happening at random times not just cooking or showering, that's prob it. try putting a small fan near it or opening a window for a bit, see if that helps. also check if it's one of those old korean models with a little red button on the side, sometimes pressing that resets the sensor calibration

yeah that green light usually means it's getting power, so battery's prob fine. could be dust or a bug inside the sensor, happens a lot in older buildings here. if it's near a bathroom or kitchen, steam or cooking smoke can set it off even if you don't notice it. try hitting the test/hush button for a few seconds, or if you're brave, pop it off the mount and blow canned air into the slot. worst case, tell your host to replace it, most airbnbs have spares in the utility closet

ngl that green flash means it's on mains power not battery. could be a loose wire in the ceiling connection, happens a lot in older buildings here. tell your host to check it, not worth messing with electrical stuff yourself.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
