The guide's right about Reza Loghmeh being solid, but I'd add that their tahdig is the real standout. I've had it there a few times and the crust is always perfectly crisp, not burnt like some places. It's worth the 250,000 tomans just for that.
For the river promenade, Shandiz Mashhad is decent but I prefer the kabab koubideh at a place called Kababi Haji on the eastern end of the walkway. It's smaller, no sign in English, but the meat is seasoned with just the right amount of sumac and they give you fresh lavash instead of rice. About 180,000 tomans and they stay open until midnight.
One thing the guide doesn't mention is that the Karaj Bazaar area has a few juice stalls selling fresh pomegranate juice in season. Around 60,000 tomans for a glass and it's a good palate cleanser between the heavy food. Especially if you're going from dizi to something sweeter.
yeah this guide is pretty spot on. one thing i'd add is the jigaraki amir spot in gohardasht is legit but go early, like before 7pm, because they sell out fast and the queue gets long. i went once at 8 and they were already closing up, had to settle for a sad sandwich somewhere else
also if you're near the bazaar in the morning, there's a little bread stall on the corner of shariati and moj that does fresh sangak straight from the oven. it's like 20,000 tomans and they slather it with butter if you ask. perfect with a cup of chai from the shop next door, way better than the touristy spots later in the day
the river promenade tip is good but i'd skip shandiz on weekends tbh, too crowded and the service gets slow. instead walk a bit further east to kababi haji like someone else said, it's quieter and the meat is better in my opinion. plus the view of the river from there is nicer at night because there's less light pollution
ngl the reza loghmeh rec is solid but if u want something a bit different try the kookoo sabzi at khaneye kookoo on moj street. it's a small place near the university exit, really fresh herbs and the portion is huge for like 120,000 tomans. i usually grab one after class, beats the kebabs when u want something lighter

ngl this is a solid plan for a first timer but i'd swap day 3 morning for the karaj flower market near mirdamad square instead of the caravanserai. it's open from like 6 am to noon and you can get huge bunches of fresh tulips for 50,000 IRR. way more alive than the craft stalls tbh. also the botanical garden greenhouse gets hot as hell by 2 pm so go early if you can
honestly the day 2 taxi rental price seems about right but make sure you haggle it down to 1,200,000 if youre going on a weekday, drivers inflate it for tourists. also the Gachsar Palace gardens are nice but the real gem is the small tea house hidden behind the main building, they serve this herbal mix with dried barberries that hits different after a hike. one thing the guide kinda glosses over is how dusty the dam trail gets in summer, bring a scarf or mask for sure
